Surrogate Court form reporting firearms when someone dies

The SAFE Act adds a new requirement that when someone dies all firearms must be reported on a separate inventory from and be filed with the Division of Criminal Justice Services as well as with the court. See below for a copy of the inventory form:

  1. WOW!!! Looks like confiscation time.. Looks like they’re trying to pinpoint where each & every firearm is. This will fail, like everything else NYS does.

    • Cyrus: Surrogate’s Court is where property is decided and wills interpreted after someone dies. This reporting is to make it so they know what firearms are passed on to the next generation.

  2. Evan,
The Government shouldn’t be involved in this at all. The second amendment is to protect US citizens FROM the Government. The “SAFE Act” was illegally brought into law and is unconstitutional.

    • Randy: 100% Agreed. The SAFE act has to go, NY needs to be turned around. We need help fighting it from everyone. This site is part of my effort in opposition.

  3. I was wondering when and from whom the form would be rolled out. It is clearly part of this misguided legislation. I am shocked by the number of people who can just idly sit and watch these things happening and not care. I am not sure if most people are lazy, stupid just want to make it through the day to watch Honey Boo Boo.
