In the darkness of Governance, more stars shine brilliantly across New York State. This week, another five municipal governments in Erie, Ontario, and St. Lawrence counties proudly join 234 others, and 52 county legislative bodies across the Empire State to support citizens civil and constitutional rights. Together, 291 municipal and county governments, representing millions of New Yorkers, follow a historic, united path in opposition to the unsafe law Governor Cuomo rushed into place in the dark of night on January 15th, 2013. A wayward law enacted without transparency, intelligent debate, and through the improper use of an unnecessary “Message of Necessity”.

Municipalities opposed to the SAFE Act are represented on the map as liberty loving “Shining Stars” of freedom. Each week, a little more darkness gives way to freedom’s light. Shine your own light. Follow your own path. Fear not Governance darkness. Continue intelligent, open, informed discussions at municipal board meetings.
